FOR EMPLOYERS

CareCircle programs are an innovative new way to provide substantial benefits to employers and employees in a range of situations. Here are some examples:

For employers: The benefits of CareCircle programs include faster return-to-work, reduced absenteeism, and improved employee loyalty. For all but the smallest companies, The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requires that job-protected leaves and continued health insurance be provided in a range of situations. In these cases, as well as in medical/injury or new baby situations, CareCircle programs help maintain the absent employee's social connection to the workplace, and can deliver practical assistance from participating co-workers, as well as emotional support, to the employee during stressful times. The programs follow HIPPA guidelines in protecting the privacy of the employee or other participants to the extent that they desire.

For a sick or injured employee: A CareCircle program, provided as an employee benefit, can reduce stress on the patient and caregiver, help accelerate their recovery, maintain their workplace ties, and promote a faster return to productive and satisfying work. Because the associated Web site provides details on their situation and what types of communication or support would be welcomed, workplace relationships are maintained or strengthened and less time is wasted by co-workers speculating on outcomes or appropriate reactions.

For an employee/caregiver: As more employees are becoming caregivers for aging parents and other loved ones, CareCircle programs provide a more efficient way for them to deliver practical and emotional support while continuing their careers and maintaining their income. The programs provide co-workers, family, and friends with a clear communication of the employee/caregiver's situation, and allow others to help out in a range of ways if they choose to do so, while respecting the wishes of the employee/caregiver.

For new/expecting parents: CareCircle programs can help them communicate their situation to co-workers, and update them on the new arrival. Posting new baby pictures on their CareCircle Web site allows co-workers to share their joy and communicate their good wishes without disrupting the workplace.

For an employee coping with the loss of a loved one: Again, by communicating about the survivor's situation and their wishes to co-workers, the relationship to the workplace can be maintained during this difficult time. Once invited into the program, co-workers can visit the employee's Web site and leave messages of condolence or personal offers of help.
