1. Why should we include CareCircle programs in our
employee benefits package?
When an employee takes unplanned leave from work, possibly due to illness or an
accident, your company will most likely be affected financially. Costs to the
company not only include decreased productivity from the employee affected, lost
work time, replacement employee cost, but also additional work and stress for
supervisors and co-workers.
CareCircle
programs reduce the impact of absences due to medical conditions because they
support a quicker return-to-work. By providing a tool to support reducing
employee’s absenteeism you can reduce your healthcare expenses and therefore
improve the company’s bottom line.

2. Should this benefit be offered to an employee who is
the primary caregiver to a spouse, child or parent?
Absolutely. An employee’s productivity and work attendance will be immediately
impacted when he or she needs to support another family member in crisis.
CareCircle programs can ease the burdens of managing these new life challenges
by providing a vehicle to help the employee successfully overcome the obstacles
placed in his or her path. The program establishes a supportive environment and
shares the responsibilities among a selected group of friends.

3. Do CareCircle programs work with the short and long term
disability programs our company already provides?
CareCircle programs complement and enhance the programs you currently offer your
employees. What’s more, this program taps in to a reservoir of volunteers who
stand ready and willing to support the employee in need--at no cost to your
company. This untapped resource of friends, family and the community-at-large is
instrumental in meeting the mutual goal of bringing the employee back to work.

4. Healthcare costs are skyrocketing. How can my company
afford to add another benefit?
A better question might be, how can you afford to not add this benefit? The
costs associated with disability leave are staggering, and include loss of
productivity, the use of incremental family leave hours, excessive undocumented
“sick days,” use of short term disability insurance, stress on co-workers who
are required to pick up the slack, and employee replacement costs. When we meet,
we can discuss why CareCircle programs are the best healthcare investment you
can make.

5. How do CareCircle programs comply with HIPAA requirements?
Although
CareCircle is not a health care provider, our programs have been designed to
provide a high level of privacy for employees who may be hesitant to share
health information. Our privacy is provided in two ways: 1) Employers do not
have access to their employees’ CareCircle programs (unless invited to
participate by the employee) and 2) Employees are able to limit participation by
specifying a secure, password-protected Web site. Only those who have been given
the password will be able to access the site.

6. Our company is focused on work/family balance, and offers
a variety of services, including on-site child care and flexible work hours to
support our employees. Why should CareCircle be added to the list?
It is a
transitional time in a mother’s life when a new child comes in to the family. It
is a time when valued employees are making decisions as to whether they will
return to work once the planned maternity leave ends. One factor is financial,
but another less tangible factor is how supported and connected she feels to the
workplace. A CareCircle program provides that bridge between the office and the
home. The early days of adjustment to a new baby are often exhausting and
lonely. A CareCircle program fills in the gaps and creates a supportive
atmosphere. The company that offers this program will be valued not only by the
employee, but by other employees who are planning their own family expansions.

7. Do CareCircle programs provide a solution to eldercare challenges for our employees?
A CareCircle support program can provide tremendous security for those caring
for aging adults by arranging rides to doctors, scheduling meal deliveries,
having groceries delivered, or even arranging social visits with neighbors and
friends. It can also be used to coordinate a variety of other existing community
support resources. What’s more, a CareCircle program can be created and managed
from a remote location, providing practical support and communication among
long-distance friends and family. Perhaps most importantly, CareCircle support
programs celebrate and showcase the great people they are and lives they lived,
not just the challenges they may be experiencing.

8. How can we help an employee when they have to face the death of a loved one? We know it
is affecting them (and their work) but we don’t know what to do.
Bereavement
is one of the most difficult times in all of our lives. At CareCircle, we have
found that having a committed circle of family and friends helping in a variety
of ways can ease the pain. By providing both practical and emotional support,
the circle can make the process a little easier, and perhaps even shorter. A
company that offers a program that taps into this well of support will be
remembered and appreciated by both bereaved employees and the co-workers who
support them.
